Arthritis is very common now days. “Arthritis” is not a single disease; it is an informal way of referring to joint pain or joint disease caused by inflammation of joints. Common arthritis joint symptoms include swelling, pain, stiffness and decreased range of motion.Symptoms may come and go. They can be mild, moderate or severe.


There are different types of arthritis and related conditions. Arthritis can affect People of any ages, sex and races.It is the leading cause of disability in many countries. It is most common among women after menopause and occurs more frequently when people get older. Osteoarthritis: Osteoarthritis is joint disease due to damage to joint cartilage and underlying bone. Common symptoms are joint pain and stiffness. In early phase of Osteoarthritis, symptoms may occur only after exertion, exercise or after continued motion, but with time may become constant. Other symptoms of osteoarthritis include joint swelling, motion restriction, and when the back is affected weakness or numbness of the arms and legs. Risk factors are obesity, family history, menopause, stress, sedentary life, diets errors.


Patient with osteoarthritis will get difficulty in staring up, standing up from sitting posture, weight lifting, constant walk. Symptoms get worse when osteoarthritis get mixed with obesity, diabetes, thyroids disease and other diseases


Gout: Gout usually characterized by red, hot, tender, swollen and inflamed joints. Severe joint pain appear suddenly with formation of hard nodes over joints leads to restricted movements. Big toe joint is first affected in most of cases. Other joints, such as the heels, knees, wrists, and fingers, may also be affected.Nodosities appear over hands and feet joints, sometimes also over part than joints. Gout nodositiescaused by accumulation of uric acid crystals in joints, tendons, and surrounding tissues.Gout may also complicate in tophi, kidney stones, or urate nephropathy . Gout mostly seen in people who eat a lot of meat or protein diet, drinks a lot of beer, or are overweight. Genetic factor also a leading cause for gout.


Rheumatoid arthritis (RA): Rheumatoid arthritis is a long lasting autoimmune disease that mainly affects joints. In rheumatoid arthritis (RA) jointsare warm, swollen, and painful . Pain and stiffness often get worsewith rest. The wrist and hands are involved in most cases, typically involved same joints on both sides of the body. The disease may also affect other parts of the body. Rheumatoid arthritis may result in a low red blood cell count, inflammation in the lungs, and inflammation of the heart called rheumatic heart disease. Fever and low energy may also be present known as rheumatic fever. Symptoms come on slowly over weeks to months. Causes of Rheumatoid arthritis may be genetic or may be environmental. Psoriatic arthritis:Psoriatic arthritis is a condition of joint pain related to your immune system, also known as arthritis psoriatica, arthropathic psoriasis or psoriatic arthropathy.A type of inflammatoryarthritis that will appear as joint pain in 30 percent of people who have psoriasis. Psoriatic arthritis is classified as a seronegative spondyloarthropathy and therefore occurs more commonly in patients with tissue type HLA-B27. Joint pain with swelling and stiffness appear with psoriasis. Hand joints with psoriasis are mainly involved, joints are painful, red and warm to touch.
