ALLERGIES:

Allergies are a number of conditions like allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma, allergic dermatitis, urticaria caused by hypersensitivity of the immune system to something in the environment or in food that usually causes little problem in most people. Symptoms may include red eyes, an itchy rash on skin, runny nose, shortness of breath, or swelling.


Common allergens are pollen and food that leads to frequent allergies. Metals and other substances may also cause allergies. Food, insect stings, and medications are common causes of severe allergic reactions. Allergic reaction development is due to both genetic and environmental factors.


ASTHMA:

Asthma is due to respiratory congestion causes inflammation and narrowing of the bronchial tubes (Air passages).


If patient frequently experience shortness of breath or a whistling or wheezy sound heard from chest while breathing breathe, patient is said to be asthmatic. Asthma is a chronic condition occurs, If people with asthma are exposed to a substance to which they are sensitive that changes their regular breathing patterns, the symptoms of asthma can become more severe. There are two types of asthma: allergic (caused by exposure to an allergen) and non-allergic (caused by stress, exercise, illnesses like a cold or the flu, or exposure to extreme weather, irritants in the air or some medications).


Causes of asthma:


  • Outdoor allergens like such as smoke, chemical fumes and strong odours, pollens from grass, trees and weeds, Indoor allergens, such as pet dander, dust mites and mould, some drugs and food additives. Weather conditions, such as cold air or extremely dry, wet or windy weather may are also causative factors of asthma.
  • Psychological factors particularly emotional stress.

  • Asthma Symptoms:


    • Coughing
    • Shortness of breath
    • Chest tightness/Congestion
    • Wheezing
    • Increased respiration rate
    • Rapid pulse rate
    • Sweating
    • Inability to speak in one breath
    • Restlessness and anxiety

    • Allergic Rhinitis:

      Allergic rhinitis is also known as hay fever occurs after exposure to cold air, dust, pollens. Symptoms of allergic rhinitis are frequent sneezing, sometimes unstoppable, that leads nasal congestion (nose block) and compel patient to breath through mouth. Constant watery eyes are also symptoms of allergic rhinitis. Allergic rhinitis can be becomes chronic and complicated as sinusitis or asthma


      Atopic dermatitis:

      Atopic dermatitis is also allergic skin reaction represented by skin rashes that are inflamed, red, itchy and could have burning sensation. Dermatitis is a form of eczema caused due to some allergic reaction to specific allergen like pollen, dust, pet hairs, particular dyes or cosmetics


      Sinusitis:

      Sinusitis is a condition of sinus infection, also known as rhino sinusitis, is due to inflammation of the sinuses resulting in symptoms include thick nasal mucus discharge, a plugged nose, and pain in the face(cheeks, over eyes, nose). Serious condition of sinusitis may include fever, headaches, loss of sense of smell, sore throat, and cough. The cough is often worse at night. Nasal congestion causes blockage of nose compel patient to breathe through mouth. Sinusitis can be due to infection, allergies, air pollution, or some anatomical problems in the nose. Most cases are due to allergies to specific allergen and lead to a viral infectionand bacterial infection if symptoms last more than ten days or if a person worsens after starting to improve. Recurrent episodes of sinusitis are more seen in patients with asthma, cystic fibrosis, and poor immune function.
